Roger Dale Smith was born Sept. 20, 1964, to Gerald and Florene Smith in Bristow. He departed this life Aug. 1, 2025, at the age of 60 years.
Roger grew up living the farm life in Iron Post learning what hard work, sweat and determination was. He attended Depew Schools where he graduated in 1982. Roger and Tammy were married March 3, 1989, and life’s true adventure began. They made their home just a mile from where he grew up. Roger held many titles and jobs through the years supporting his family. He was an all in man when it came to getting things done. Hard work is what he knew, and he gave it all whether it be farming, operating the dairy farm with his brother, Edwin or hauling hay.
His most cherished titles were husband, dad and Papa. He loved fiercely and done his best to show not only his love but the love of Jesus in all that he did. Roger’s 20 plus years with Creek County sometimes meant long hours but he always made time with family. Through the years he made the time to be at any sporting event his children and grandchildren were playing, watching them learn and excel in their many sports.
Roger is survived by his mom, Florene; wife of 36 years, Tammy; stepson, Wesley Parrick; two daughters, Ajia Smith and fiancé Trey, Ashley Orr and husband Brandon; one brother, Edwin Smith and wife Renee; one sister, Glenda Noe and husband Darrin; seven grandchildren, Stephania Parrick, Kylee Smith, Koby Montgomery, Laycee Parrick, Knox Orr, Kaisley Orr, and Granger Lee.
He was preceded in death by his dad, Gerald Smith; maternal and paternal grandparents and one grandchild, Karson Orr.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, Aug. 4, 2025, at Grace Christian Church in Bristow.
