Robbie Lois Cantrell, 1933 - 2018
Robbie Lois Cantrell, former resident of Bristow, passed from this life in Sapulpa on June 2, 2018, at the age of 85 years, three months and 29 days. Her cremains will be interred in Fort Gibson National Cemetery beside her husband. No other services are planned. Cremation services were entrusted to the care of Michael’s Funeral Home, Bristow.
Robbie Lois Cantrell was born in Cunningham, Kentucky on Feb. 4, 1933, to the late John Mitchell and Anna Marie (Solomon) Mitchell. She was raised and educated in Cairo, Illinois where she graduated high school. She then moved to Beaumont, California where she met Bob Cantrell and they were married on July 1, 1950, in Yuma, Arizona. On that day, she became the wife of a career soldier which allowed them to travel and reside in many places. After his discharge in 1964, they settled in Bristow where they remained. Robbie had worked at Miss Elaine’s Garment Factory and had become a spokesperson for the I.L.G.W.U. This allowed her to travel to New York and participate in a TV commercial for the union. She later retired in 1987. Robbie was very active in the VFW and was a member of the Order of Eastern Star. She enjoyed playing with her Chihuahuas, painting birdhouses, and spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Bob E. Cantrell; daughter: Kathryn Cantrell; and two sons: Andrew Cantrell and Neal Cantrell.
Her remaining family includes her daughter: Amy Pinson, of Sapulpa; two grandsons, John Rinke and Christopher Cantrell; three granddaughters, Robin Pinson Messer, Angelia Pinson Barnett, Stephanie Cantrell; nine great grandchildren: Hayden Messer, Dayten Messer, Parker Messer, Tyler Barnett, Cambry Barnett, Allie Barnett, Kyle Barnett, Dylon Trembly, Bailey Riggs; one great great grandson, Braxton Barnett and numerous other relatives.
