Richard Duane McLean

Richard Duane McLean was born in Scott City, Kansas to Harriet Bertha McLean. He departed this life April 2, 2019, in Claremore,. He was the oldest of 10 siblings, seven brothers and three sisters. Bill, Linda, Marvin, Gary, Janie, Sharon, Donnie, Darrel and Kenny. He grew up in various towns across the central USA, working at various farming jobs from the age of 8 on.

He joined the Army in 1969 at the age of 19. He volunteered for service in Vietnam and was a wrecker operator for the 518th Engineering Company, attaining the rank of Sergeant. He was honorably discharged in 1971.

He met and married Leona Mae Williams from Clayton, in 1971. They had two sons, Christopher and Patrick, and were married 25 years. He had four grandchildren, Abby, Matt, Ava and Connor.

He is survived by his mother Harriet, sons and grandchildren, five brothers, Marvin, Gary, Donnie, Darrel, Kenny and two sisters, Janie and Sharon.

He was a wonderful father , dutiful son, protective brother and caring granddad to them all.

Memorial services are scheduled for April 11, 2019, at 11 the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3656 in Bristow.
