James “Jim” A. Chapman, 1937 - 2019

James “Jim” A. Chapman was born March 27, 1937, to Owen Clayton and Ola Mae Chapman in Bristow. He departed this life Jan. 14, 2019, at the age of 81 years, nine months and 18 days.

Jim had spent his whole life living in Bristow. He was a 1955 graduate of Bristow High School. He served his country in the United States Army.

On Dec. 25, 1962, James A. Chapman and Wanda Jane Callison were united in marriage.

He had many likes and hobbies including, hunting with his bird dogs, target shooting, going to the lake fishing and driving the boat, cooking out, family gatherings, watching western movies and reading Louis L’Amour western novels.

He is survived by his wife, Jane Chapman, of the Bristow home; three sons, Jeffrey Chapman and fiancé, Taffy Clark, of Collinsville, Mark Chapman, of Bristow, Kevin Chapman and wife Vicki, of Bristow; one daughter Debbie Bell and husband Steven; grandchildren, Corey, Matthew, Calvin, Tommy, Katelen, Zack, Hunter, Gavin, Tyler, Morgan, Stephen and Elizabeth; great grandchildren, Keeton, Kayden and Makenna.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Jack Chapman, two sisters, Irene Errera and Tommee Simmons and granddaughter, Rebecca Bell.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 21, 2019, at the Bristow Free Will Baptist Church with Reverend Gene Jackson officiating.
