C.W.”Charley” Collins, 1942 - 2020
Graveside funeral rites for Drumright resident, C.W. Collins, were held 2 p.m. Friday, May 15, 2020, in the Bristow City Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of Michael’s Funeral Home of Bristow.
C. W. “Charley” Collins passed from this life suddenly at his home in Drumright on May 11, 2020 at the age of 77 years, nine months and one day. He was born at Carmi, Illinois on August 10, 1942 to the late Carl Samuel Collins and Juanita Helen (Dressler) Collins. Charlie grew up in the Bristow and Tryon areas and was a 1960 graduate of Tryon High School. He joined the United States Army in February of 1966 and was discharged as a Sergeant in 1968. Charley had lived the majority of his life in this area. In 1990, he moved from Mannford to Drumright. He married Barbara J. ( Jackson) Cox in 2003 and they made their home in Drumright. Charley owned several businesses in the Drumright area including Antiques & More, and the Drumright Inn. He was also an oil producer. Charley loved going to auctions and meeting people. He was a hard worker and would help anyone who was down on their luck. He was a great asset to this area and will be greatly missed. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Tiffany Ann Collins; and two brothers, Ronnie Carl Collins and Kay Franklin Collins.
His remaining family includes his wife, Barbara Collins, of Drumright; brothers and sisters, Kathryn Costner, of Bristow, Patricia “Patty” Slane of Claremore; Mary Nell Ailey, of Bristow; Danny Joe Collins, of Drumright; Edith Ann Owens, of Oklahoma City; several nieces and nephews; stepchildren, Stan Noble, of Sand Springs; Scott Noble, of Tulsa; Stacey Faul, of Chicago; Renee Daglish, of Texas; Lisa Cox, of Sapulpa; Mark Cox, of Broken Arrow; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; plus many other relatives and friends.
