Barbara Faye Hudgins, 89, of Bristow, died while surrounded by the love of her family on July 26, 2026.
She was born on Aug. 5, 1936, in Kiowa, Oklahoma, to Sam and Pearl Jones. Barbara attended school in Kiowa and, upon graduation, began working as a secretary at Atlas Insurance Agency until she wed Wesley and became a full-time homemaker. “Granny,” as he was affectionately known by her family, loved all things outdoors, including mowing her yard, working in her flower garden, watching her beloved hummingbirds, tending to the cattle, and watching the sun set.
Barbara married Wesley W. Hudgins on Jan. 9, 1954. They had three sons, Audie, Alan, and John Hudgins, as well as seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley Hudgins; her parents, Sam and Pearl Jones; her brothers, Bobby Jones, Dale Jones, Darryl Jones, and Sammy Jones; and her sisters, Doris Smith and Collen Heath.
She is survived by sons Audie and wife Kathleen, Alan Hudgins and Andi Anson, and John Hudgins’; grandchildren Audra Bethel and husband Justin, Amanda McMasters and husband Paul, Amber Walters and husband Adam, Jennifer Hudgins, Chad Hudgins, Emily Vignonee, and Hannah Hudgins. Great-grandchildren Jayme Lyday and husband Tanner, Haden Bethel and wife Fayth, Halee Bethel, and Tucker Mc-Masters; great-great-grandchildren Harper Lyday, Viola Bethel, Audie Bethel, Bentlee McMasters, and Haddie Lyday. Sisters Oleeta Bowman and Shirley White and brother Jimmy Jones.
By Barbara’s request, there will be no funeral service. There was a celebration of life on Sunday,Aug.9,2026 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Route 66 Venue, 116 W. 8th Street, Bristow, Oklahoma 74010.
