On Monday, Oct. 5, Bristow Police Officer Trent Bray was taken into custody on alleged sexual battery charges. The charges came after an investigation from the OSBI (Oklahoma State Bureau Investigations). Without going into graphic details of a sexual battery case, Bray is accused of allegedly, inappropriately, touching and kissing a 19 year old employee, whom he worked with at the police department, without her consent. The incident allegedly took place in August of this year.
The employee reported the incident to her supervisor the next day. On Aug. 17, the Bristow Police Department requested assistance from the OSBI, where an immediate investigation into the allegations began. Bray was immediately placed on paid administrative leave. Bray has been with the department approximately six years and had recently received promotion to Sargent. The investigation included a search of the victim’s cell phone, which showed texts between the two of them. The alleged victim was taken to a local hospital where they performed a sexual assault exam where DNA swabs were collected.
On Sept. 23, 2026 the OSBI provided there report to the Creek County District Attorney’s office. Based on the information received, on Sept. 30, 2026, an arrest warrant was issued for Bray. On Oct. 5, 2026 Bray was located and arrested by the US Marshall’s Service and booked into Creek County Jail.
The charges are merely an accusation and the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
Following are statements from both the Bristow Police Department and Mayor Kris Wyatt regarding the incident.
The following is a statement received from Mayor Wyatt. “I want to address the recent report involving Bristow Police Sergeant Randall Trent Bray. When this matter was reported, Police Chief Kevin Webster notified me first thing that morning when I arrived at the office. I was advised that the matter had already been addressed promptly, including contact with the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI),
See Arrest, Page Three and that Sergeant Bray had been suspended before I was contacted. Chief Webster advised me that he was contacted at approximately 5:30 a.m. and was at the police station, along with the department investigator and command staff, by approximately 6:00 a.m.
To further protect the citizens of Bristow and maintain the integrity of the investigation, Sergeant Bray was suspended that afternoon. As part of that action, his badge, department- issued firearms, department vehicle, and law enforcement credentials were taken from him.
A thorough investigation was then initiated by the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI). That investigation was completed last week and resulted in an arrest warrant being issued.
Because this is an active criminal matter, there are limits on what I can appropriately discuss. I will not comment on the specific allegations or evidence involved. Those matters belong within the investigative and judicial processes.
What I can say is that the City takes allegations of this nature seriously. The appropriate authorities were contacted, immediate action was taken, and the investigation was allowed to proceed through the proper channels.
As Mayor, I believe it is important that we allow that process to work and respect the rights of everyone involved while this case moves forward.
