On Friday, Kris Wyatt, Oklahoma State Senator James Leewright and the CEO of Replenysh, Inc., Mark Armen, met at the high school library to talk with the Bristow High School Leadership class about recycling. For years, people have worked to bring recycling options to the community. Most of the efforts were unsuccessful until Kris Wyatt found a partner in Mark Armen, Replenysh, Inc. for a long-term, no-cost recycling program, so Wyatt got busy and made it happen. The community now has a great recycling program and only looks to make it bigger and better in the future. Armen spoke to the attendees as to the great possibilities in recycling.
Wyatt and the high school leadership class have worked diligently to make this recycling service work. The profits from the events, held ever so often, are donated to a local charity, such as Bristow Social Services. Both Wyatt and the leadership deserve to be commended to all the hard work they have put into this program and Friday that is what happened.
Senator James Leewright was on hand to present Wyatt and Sutton Titsworth, representative of the leadership class, a citation to Wyatt and the leadership class for “Making an Impact”. The citation reads as follows:
Whereas, Kristine Wyatt has been instrumental in making Bristow one of the first communities in Oklahoma to launch a program with Replenysh – a zero-cost recycling program; and
Whereas, The Bristow Community has joined Mark Armen, Founder of Replenysh, with their mission, which is to live in a world where every material is reused; and
Whereas, Replenysh connects local communities with brands like Pepsico, Rite Aid, and Chick-fil-A who want to recover their products and packaging for reuse; and
Whereas, Bristow students are also “Making an Impact”. The Bristow High School Leadership Replenysh Committee have taken on the task of picking up all the recycling from Bristow schools, including the cafeterias and the football field; and
Whereas, Bristow High School Leadership Replenysh Committee, Kristine Wyatt, and the Community of Bristow are working together to encourage recycling throughout the city of Bristow; and
Whereas, the Oklahoma Legislature takes great pride in honoring the Bristow Leadership Class, the Bristow Community and Kristine Wyatt, for their service to the community.
Now, therefore, pursuant to the motion of the
Oklahoma Legislature the Great State of Oklahoma extends sincere appreciation and directs that this Citation be presented
