Frozen pipes can bust your budget

Each year insurance companies pay claims due to frozen pipes. With Oklahoma's roller coaster weather, and recently seeing single digit temperatures, homeowners need to pay close attention to the possiblity of pipes freezing. In 2021, Oklahoma was the third state for the highest claims due to frozen pipes, rising from 16th place in 2020. Insurance companies paid out over 12 million dollars in claims due to frozen pipes.

Getting involved in the New Year

In decades past, local residents joined organizations and attended meetings across the community for socialization and networking but also to be involved. Life meant living. These days, we tend to box up our identities in our job descriptions and families. Plus, we do less actual living and engage in more sedentary, isolative activities, sitting behind screens. Unfortunately, we need to be active for our mental, physical, and relational health and to build up our communities for years of success to come.

National blood crisis could be dangerous for patients

The American Red Cross is facing a national blood crisis – its worst blood shortage in more than a decade. Dangerously low blood supply levels are posing a concerning risk to patient care and forcing doctors to make difficult decisions about who receives blood transfusions and who will need to wait until more products become available.

Single car roll over on turnpike

A personal injury collison occurred on the Turner Turnpike, four miles west of Kellyville, sending both driver and a juvenile passenger to the hospital. James Johnson, age 34, from Tulsa, and a juvenile passenger, also of Tulsa, was traveling westbound on the Turner Turnpike when the 2008 Ford F150 Johnson was driving departed the roadway striking a center median twice before reentering the roadway when the vehilce then departed the roadway to the right rolling at least three times before coming to rest on its wheels.
