Health Insurance still available through special enrollment

Oklahomans who missed open enrollment but still need health insurance can check with a Healthcare Navigator to find out if they are eligible for a special enrollment period in the online Marketplace. Approximately 40 specially trained and certified Navigator assisters‹ all attorneys, paralegals and legal support staff from Legal Aid Services of Oklahoma and professionals from collaborating nonprofits‹stand ready to help Oklahoma citizens understand their health insurance options including private coverage on the Marketplace.

A year after an extreme winter storm gripped Oklahoma and the central United States, utility customers are finally getting a look at which companies sold natural gas during a record price spike. NextEra Energy Marketing LLC, a subsidiary of Floridabased utility and energy giant NextEra Energy Inc., led the pack with almost $430 million in natural gas sales to Oklahoma utilities during the winter storm.

Last year, we took an important step in that direction with the passage of Senate Bill 1021, creating the Hydrogen Production, Transportation, and Infrastructure Task Force (OK H2 Task Force) to research and report on the viability of hydrogen production and use within our state and for export.

February launches various events and programs that are aimed at helping people identify and understand the risk factors for developing cardiocascular disease. Heart disease is the leading casue of death in the United States for both men and women, although women lead when it comes to heart disease. Heart disease does not pick and choose who it hits. Every year one in four deaths are casued by heart disease. Cardiovascular disease is known as the silent killer, especially in women. Heart disease is known as the silent killer because it often doesn't display symptons like cancer and lung disease. Many individuals who don't have their cholesterol and blood pressure checked regularly can succomb to a heart attack without ever realizing they had a health issue.
