When Did Your Life Change?

Everyone has a moment when his or her life changes dramatically. It may be for the positive, or it may be a negative cause. Nevertheless, your life changed.

When a young man and woman fall in love, their wedding night brings into that relationship a pleasurable act of love. This gift can be given to only one - the husband of her love, the wife of his love.

Virginity is a wondrous gift reserved for only one. No one else can enjoy that single moment of pleasure. That moment was saved for only one, and cannot be given again -- not to anyone else.

Maybe your life-changing moment occurred when you received your driver's license. Remember that day? You opened the mail with an envelope from the Department of Motor Vehicles. It contained your new drivers license.

You then asked, “Need anything from the store, Mom?” As a young man you may have asked, “Can I have the car Friday night, Dad? I have a special girl I want to take to the movies.” New freedom!

That same new freedom may also become your life changer, but in a negative way. A young man, Mark, once ‘borrowed’ a company vehicle. On an isolated road he opened it up.

Speeding down that poorly maintained road he hit a hole. Mark lost control. Now, at nineteen years old, Mark was paralyzed. One foolish mistake and Mark can no longer enjoy the freedom that his friends all do. His life changed forever.

So, you can see that each of us has a moment when life changes -- perhaps for the good, possibly for the worse.

The Bible has one message for you. Sure, there are many lessons. We can find many important topics. Not all Bible books mention Jesus, but those books are no less valuable than all the others.

We know that every thought, every lesson, and every word comes from God. Faith in Him is the ultimate message.

“Many other signs therefore Jesus also performed in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this Book; but these have been written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing you may have life in His name” ( John 20:30-31).

If the most significant claim to change in your life comes by way of marriage, or a driver's license, or a tragedy, then you have another change that will be your most outstanding one. You need a change that rises above all others: Jesus! Make Jesus the Lord of your life, and that will supersede all else!
