Bristow News staff attends Oklahoma Press Association convention

The staff at Bristow News attended the annual Oklahoma Press Association Convention over the weekended with more than 175 newspapers in attendance. The event is held the first weekend in June each year. The event, this year, was held at the Embassy Suites Convention Center in Norman. Even though the torrential rain put a slight damper on things, the staff enjoyed the time spent with their sister properties and other friends and acquaintances made over the past several years. It is a chance for newspapers, who are members of the Oklahoma Press Association, across the state to mingle and compare notes with other member newspapers and on Saturday evening a formal banquet is held with an awards ceremony, in various categories, being presented to winning newspapers. Each year in February, newspapers are asked to submit articles, photos, columns, stories, etc. The entries are then sent to other newspapers, usually from out of state, for criticism and judging. The Bristow News is proud to announce that it brought home four different awards in four different categories and are looking forward to attending the 2027 convention.
