Loraine Tekla Elias
Loraine Tekla Elias, 93, of Bristow, passed away on Thursday, July 12, 2018. Lora was so jovial, compassionate, caring and entertaining even up to the remaining days of her life. She would always give anything she had to someone who needed it. She wouldn’t let you leave a visit without offering you food or sending food with you. She had a gift of remembering everyone’s birthday and making you feel like you were her favorite. She was very knowledgeable of family history and could recite every branch of the family tree.
Loraine was born Feb. 17, 1925, and graduated from Kellyville High School in 1943, where she was the football queen.
Prior to her retirement Loraine was employed over 30 years at Sun Oil Company.
She was a devout Catholic and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bristow. Loraine never married; however, held the love of a huge family and many friends. She always had a way with people. Lora was greatly devoted to her Maltese, Sir Arthur, to the extent of taking him to church, walking him in a baby carriage, and taking him everywhere she went.
Loraine was preceded in death by her parents, Saab and Yona Elias; her brothers, Johnny Elias, Jamil Elias, of Jamil’s Steakhouse, in Tulsa, and Eddy Elias, of Eddy’s Steakhouse, of Tulsa, and many cousins, nieces and nephews, etc.
Viewing was held from 5-8 p.m., Monday, July 16, 2018, at Hutchins-Maples Matherly Funeral Chapel. A Rosary followed at 7 p.m., Tuesday, July 17, and will be held in the fucelebration of life was held at 2 pm, Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 302 N. Elm Street, Bristow Oklahoma.
