(USACE Lake Level) Crappie fair on hair jigs, minnows, plastic baits, tube jigs, and worms around brush structure, coves, and docks. Largemouth bass fair on crankbaits and spinnerbaits around channels, coves, and points. Channel catfish slow on cut bait, punch bait, and stinkbait around channels and main lake. Hefner: March 24. Elevation is normal and stable, water temperature 57°F and stained. (USGS Lake Level) Largemouth bass fair on crankbaits and slabs around brush structure, shorelines, and weed beds. White bass and crappie fair on jigs, minnows, and plastic baits around docks and shorelines. Blue and channel catfish fair on dough bait, shad, and worms around docks, main lake, and rocks. Overholser: March 26. Elevation is 1 ft. below normal and stable, water temperature 53°F and stained. Crappie slow on jigs and minnows around standing timber. Comments: Fishing has slowed a little this week with the cooler temperatures and strong winds. Eucha: March 24. Elevation is normal and stable, water temperature 54°F and murky. (USGS Lake Level) Largemouth bass good on crankbaits and jerk baits around brush structure, docks, and shorelines. Crappie fair on hair jigs, jigs, and minnows around brush structure, docks, and shorelines. Channel catfish fair on chicken liver, shrimp, and worms around coves, docks, and shorelines. Fort Gibson: March 24. Elevation is 0.5 ft. above normal and falling, water temperature 58°F and murky. (USACE Lake Level) Crappie fair on hair jigs, minnows, spoons, and tube jigs around brush structure, docks, and main lake. Largemouth bass fair on Alabama rigs, crankbaits, flukes, jerk baits, jigs, and spinnerbaits around coves, points, and rocks. Paddlefish fair snagging below the dam and main lake. Comments: Keep fishing deeper water for crappie, the bite is real hit or miss right now. Moon jigs and minnows seem to be working the best. Some sand bass are being caught in the mouth of Flat Rock Creek on the lake. Throw square bill cranks and lipless cranks for them. The black bass bite has been slow; jerk baits, jigs, square bills, and lipless near structure in deeper water has had the best results. Triple digit paddlefish have been caught in the lake, so hit channels in deeper water for them. Report submitted by Cody Morris, game warden stationed in Wagoner County.
