August 23, 2026, 55 year old Daniel Harjo was reported to the Okemah Police Department as a missing person. Law enforcement began the search.
On August 25, the Ofuskee County Sheriff’s office requested help from the OSBI after human remains were found in Ofuskee County. The remains were transported to the Chief Medical Examiner and the remains were identified as those of Harjo.
The suspicious circumstances behind Harjo’s death are being investigated. Further information regarding the circumstances of how or when he died have not been released.
