On May 29, 2026 Governor Stitt signed the “Rocket's Red Glare Act”, legalizing bottle rockets that have been missing from Oklahoma's night sky since 1981, over 45 years.

Donations needed at local animal shelters

Each day animals are dumped or abandoned by their owners. It is a sad situation that is happening all over the county and state. Incidents of dogs being left tied to shelter fences, abandoned in rural areas, or dumped by passing vehicles occur frequently.

Bristow News staff attends Oklahoma Press Association convention

The staff at Bristow News attended the annual Oklahoma Press Association Convention over the weekended with more than 175 newspapers in attendance. The event is held the first weekend in June each year. The event, this year, was held at the Embassy Suites Convention Center in Norman.
