The Freeland Center has done it again. Another great performer will entertain on stage Sept. 12 at 7:30 pm. Colton Dixon, singer-songwriter and musician from Murfreesboro, Tennessee will take the stage and entertain the audience with great music. Dixon is a contemporary Christian music artist known for his distinctive voice, faith-driven lyrics, and powerful songs that blend modern pop and worship influences.
Dixon placed seventh on the eleventh season of American Idol.
He was a choir member throughouthighschool. In 2008, he was an extra during the filming of Hannah Montana: The Movie.
He released his debut album A Messenger with EMI-CMG/Sparrow Records in 2013. It debuted at number 15 on the Billboard 200, number one on the U.S. Christian Chart and number one on the U.S. Gospel Chart.
His musical influences include Paramore, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Lifehouse, Evanescence, Switchfoot, Skil let, and The Fray.
Dixon has appeared on shows like Live with Kelly, The Today Show, Access Hollywood, the Ellen Degenerous where he sang Billy Joel’s, Piano Man and the Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
He released the original song he performed on the American Idol Tour 2012, 'Never Gone', on iTunes in 2012, which is included on his debut album. Never Gone debuted at number one on the Christian Digital Sales chart.

Dixon participated in This is Not a Test Tour with toby-Mac and Britt Nicole, who just finished a performance at the Freeland Center herself. He released an album, “The Calm Before the Storm,” which contain dual EPs, Calm, a collection of acoustic songs and Storm, a group of remixed tracks, that contain songs from A Messenger and Anchor, including versions of 'You Are', 'Never Gone' and 'More of You.'
