The Bristow Indian Youth and Family Wellness committee received a Protect the Future grant in the amount of $5,000, from the Muscogee Creek Nation’s Behavioral Health and Substance Abuse Services in April.

Committee Chairperson Carmen Still said the grant money will be used to help increase awareness for suicide prevention services and resources. She said in April, the committee held a kickoff party to introduce the outreach efforts to the community.

Still said there will be another outreach activity event on Saturday, May 26, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Bristow Indian Community Center at 710 South Main Street, in Bristow.
