Speedy Tulsa McClain team defeats Pirate boys

The Bristow Pirate soccer team could not have started off the game, or district play, at Tulsa McLain High School any worse. The Pirate boys stumbled out of the gates and were immediately scored on as the defense committed an unforced turnover resulting in a Titan forward finding himself 10 yards from goal with the ball and no defensive pressure. His shot hit the right, lower corner and put the home team up 1-0 with only 45 seconds gone in the game.

For the next 30 minutes of the first half, the Pirates saw multiple opportunities to score a goal but couldn’t get the ball over the line. Two corner kicks from Patrick Lupp landed in front of the opposing goal but no Pirate could get a solid foot on the ball and put it in. Another chance came after Connor Corwin beat his man down the right side of the field and placed a cross over the keeper into the box, but Alex Romero was unable to get a straight shot to the netting. The ball went wide and the Pirates again came up empty
