Teachers walking - its not a day off

On Monday, it was estimated more than 30,000 Oklahoma public school teachers went to Oklahoma City to protest at the state capitol.

Legislators passed HB 1010xx and Governor Mary Fallin signed it into law, this bill gave teachers a $6,000 raise and also gave support staff a raise.

The problem teachers had with the passage of the bill is the lack of school funding. A teacher at Booker T. Washington said without school funding, her raise will go to purchasing classroom supplies. To me this is sad.
