Commission honors longtime CCSO employee

On Monday, March 5, the Creek County Commission and Creek County Sheriff Bret Bowling recognized long time employee Mary Powell for her 15 years of service to the Creek County Sheriff ’s Office. Bowling said Powell who recently announced her retirement, has worked for three sheriffs as a dispatcher, assistant and now an administrative assistant with the Creek County Juvenile Justice Center.

County Planning Director Wendy Murray asked the board to approve an amendment in the Creek County planning and zoning, section 4.1.4 area regulations in A-1 general agricultural district. The board voted to approve the amendment which changes the required frontage from 200 feet to 35 feet. She said this will help rural families who wish to split their lots.
