Fixing Oklahoma’s budget woes

Members of the Bristow area’s Legislative contingent offered their initial responses Thursday, after a nonpartisan group of Oklahoma business, civic and community leaders announced their plan to reform revenue and expenses in state government.

The group, Calling itself Step Up Oklahoma, held a press conference Thursday at the State History Building, in the shadow of the State Capitol, to announce what it called a combination of reform and revenue measures intended to drive efficiencies, eliminate abuse and waste, and raise revenue to support a $5,000 salary increase for teachers and to fund core services.
