Pirate basketball building on young foundation

Last season, the Bristow Pirates boys basketball team had a successful 10-15 record and Head Coach Ray Tankersley said he is looking for good things from this season's squad and hopes to put his boys in a position to reach the state tournament.

“Our goals are always the same,” said Tankersley, who has been coaching at Bristow for the last 18 years. “We want to play to the best of our ability. We want to always play hard and work together as a team. Success is best measured by knowing that you did your best and gave it your best effort. Our playoff goals are to get to Area, because at that point you are just a game or two away from state and anything can happen.”
