Bobby Lynn Montgomery, 1947 - 2017

Funeral services for Bobby Lynn Montgomery will be held Friday, Aug. 11, 2017, at 10 a.m. at the Welty Church of God. Interment will be at the Fort Gibson National Cemetery, Friday at 2 p.m. with full military honors. Bobby Lynn Montgomery was born March 21, 1947, in Okemah, to Raymond T. Montgomery and Grace Helen (Reed) Montgomery. He passed away Monday, Aug. 7, 2017, in Tulsa at the age of 70. Bob was a longtime resident of the Bristow and Welty area and was a 1964 graduate of Mason High School. He was a retired auto mechanic who enjoyed working on old cars and especially loved his 1965 Mercury Comet. Bob and Linda Joyce Cook were married May 12, 1995. Bob served his country with the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was a proud veteran and always had a love for shooting. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Gary. Survivors include his wife, Linda Joyce Cook, of Bristow; two sons, Jeremy Montgomery and Sarah, of Monroe, Washington and Joseph Montgomery and wife, Joya of Austin, Texas; five brothers, Teddy Montgomery and wife, Judy, of Bristow, “Pooch” Montgomery and wife, Sharon, of Bristow, Cub Montgomery and wife, Janie, of Okemah, John Montgomery and wife, Janice, of Prairie Grove, Arkansas and Rusty Montgomery and wife, Terri, of Stroud; one sister, Janet Matlock and husband, Ed, of Depew and three grandchildren, Aidan Montgomery, Caitlin Varner and Ashlyn Montgomery.
