Crappie slow on jigs, minnows, and tube jigs around brush structure, riprap, and standing timber. Comments: Significant icing remains in the north end of the lake. Should clear by mid-week. Lower Illinois: Jan 26. Elevation is normal and stable, water temperature 44°F and clear. Rainbow trout fair on caddis flies, in-line spinnerbaits, midges, PowerBait, and spoons below the dam. Perry CCC: Jan 29. Elevation is 2 ft. above normal and stable, water temperature 32°F and stained. Rainbow trout slow on dough bait and PowerBait around coves and flats. Comments: As of January 29, 2024, the lake is still frozen. The lake is beginning to thaw, but there are minimal open areas. The Perry Chamber of Commerce trout tournament was moved to Saturday, February 3, 2024. You can contact the Perry Chamber of Commerce for additional information.
