Glendon Denver Nolan of Odessa, Texas left his earthly home to take his place in his Heavenly home on Thursday evening, March 7, 2024.

He was 95 years old and suffered from a chronic illness. He passed peacefully at his home.

Glen moved to Odessa from Andrews, Texas with his wife and son in 1970, and lived in the same home the entire time in Odessa. He was a highly skilled welder, metalworker, woodworker, and graphic artist. He also served in the US Army as a paratrooper with the 11th Airborne Division, and fought in the Korean War with the 187th Regimental Airborne Combat Team. Glen made both combat jumps of the war, and was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds received during the Battle of Chosin Reservoir.

Glen was born in Oologah, Oklahoma on September 9, 1928. He moved to Bristow, Oklahoma with his parents Denver Guthrie Nolan and Roverda Winn Nolan, and his younger brother Donald Jayboy Nolan. Glen graduated from Bristow High School in 1947. He was a star athlete with the Bristow HS Pirate football and wrestling teams. He joined the Army one year after graduating. After returning to civilian life, he eventually moved to Andrews working in the petroleum industry, where he met his love, Elisabeth Riess, who had immigrated from Germany in 1948. Glen and Elisabeth were married in Andrews on January 12, 1957. They were married 67 years.

Glen loved his family and friends. He was a generous, kind and witty man, and enjoyed helping others. He loved Jesus and was looking forward to asking God many questions. Glen is survived by his wife, Elisabeth Riess Nolan; his son, Erich Donald Luis Nolan and his wife, Linda Lynn Nolan, residing in Rancho Cordova, California; and his grandson Connor Daniel Nolan, also residing in Rancho Cordova, California A visitation for Glendon will be held Thursday, March 14, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home, 601 N Alleghaney Ave, Odessa, Texas 79761. A rosary will occur Thursday, March 14, 2024 at 6:00 PM, 601 N Alleghaney Ave, Odessa, Texas 79761. A funeral mass will occur Friday, March 15, 2024 at 10:00 AM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 7601 N Grandview Ave, Odessa, Texas.
