Funeral services for Patricia Ann (Skaggs) Welcher were held Tuesday, July 28, 2026 at 11 a.m. at the Welty Church of God in Welty. Interment followed at the Welty Cemetery.
Patricia Ann (Skaggs) Welcher was born November 23, 1953 in Bristow to Dorman and Marie (Cowan) Skaggs. She passed away July 22, 2026 in her home in Broken Arrow at the age of 72, after a courageous year long battle against cancer.
She married Johnny Welcher, the love of her life, on June 4, 1971 in Welty, Oklahoma. They recently celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary. From this marriage one daughter was born, Tracey Dawn Welcher.
Patricia was a proud member of the Bristow Purple Pirate class of 1972, and was active in school choir.
Patricia worked for Mrs. De-Haven’s flower shop as a floral designer, and spent many years at Liberty Elementary School in Sapulpa. She enjoyed spending weekends at Lake Tenkiller and spending time with her lake family. She also enjoyed her plants and flowers, and watching the deer and birds.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Dorman and Marie Skaggs. She is survived by her husband Johnny, of the home, and her daughter Tracey, of Tulsa. She is also survived by two sisters, Linda Charles and husband Terry, of Owasso, and Kathy Henderson and husband Terry of Owasso, and one brother, Larry Skaggs and wife Millie, of Bristow. She is also survived by multiple nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, all of whom she loved dearly.
Patricia will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, and mimi. She loved the lake and the gulf coast of Florida and Alabama, where she visited for many years.
She lived in Sapulpa and Broken Arrow for most of her life, but always considered Welty home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Patricia’s memory to the Bristow Historical Society.
Pall bearers will be Jason Howard, Jayden Howard, Joshua Henderson, Sean O’Brien, Michael Evans, and Justin Welcher.
Services will be under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Okemah, Oklahoma and officiated by Pastor Matthew Ball and Bro. Jerry Bogle.
