Britt Nicole is an American singer and songwriter, releasing various top Christian songs. After pursuing music independently, Nicole signed with Sparrow and Capitol Records releasing the album 'Say It.' The debut single from the album,'You',hit the Top 10 on the R&R Magazine chart and climbed to No. 6 on Billboard's Hot Christian Songs. In 2009 she released “The Lost Get found” which peaked at number one on the Billboard Top Christian Albums chart and garnered the singles 'The Lost Get Found' and 'Walk on the Water'. Her single Walk on Water peaked at No. 17 on the Billboard Hot Christian Songs chart and No. 1 on Christian radio. This song was also promoted on the NBC television show The Biggest Loser. “All This Time'was the No. 1 song on Christian pop radio for eight weeks in a row and also peaked at No. 3 on Billboard's Hot Christian Songs chart.
Nicole was born in Kannapolis, North Carolina and began singing in her church, Truth Temple of Kannapolis, at the age of three. She was a talented dancer, taking ballet,jazz,hip hop,and lyrical. Waddell turned down a scholarship from Belmont University, to pursueafull-timemusiccareer. ShefeltthatGod was telling her to concentrate on singing instead of going to college.
On January 10, 2003, she released her debut album, Follow the Call, an independent release. Her first music video, for the song 'Believe', premiered on the Gospel Music Channel in 2007. In 2011, Nicole announced the release of her fourth album which was preceded by the January release of 'All This Time', the album's lead single. It was the No. 1 song on Christian pop radio for eight weeks in a row and peaked to No. 3 on Billboard's Hot Christian Songs chart. The album, titled Gold, was released on 2012. The album debuted at No. 1 on the Hot Christian albums chart and No. 41 on the Billboard 200, the highest charting album on that chart for the singer.
In 2012 Nicole signed with Capital Records. In 2015, People Magazine announced her fifth album, “Britt Nicole”. Shortly after the release of her fifth album, Nicole decided to step back from her busy, intense Christian touring schedule and focus on her three children, two sons and a daughter. She now resides in North Carolina where she is raising her children, but is still touring and bringing joy to her audiences.
