Fun with reading and technology continues at Bristow Library

Bristow Library invites community members of all ages to keep the excitement going after the Summer Reading Program concludes.While reading challenges may be wrapping up, the library has a full lineup of engaging events planned throughout July.

The celebration begins with the Summer Reading Program Foam Party on Tuesday, July 1, at 10:00 a.m. Families are invited to help us celebrate a successful summer of reading with a giant foam party and free snow cones.This event serves as the grand finale of the Summer Reading Program and is open to participants of all ages.

Teens interested in technology and media creation can participate in Techie Teens on July 2 and July 9 at 4:00 p.m. During this hands-on program, participants will learn the basics of audio recording and editing, gaining valuable skills for podcasting, content creation, and digital storytelling.

History enthusiasts won't want to miss American Storytellers on Tuesday, July 8, at 12:00 p.m. As part of the nationwide America250 commemoration, a historical reenactor will share the fascinating story of the Oklahoma milkman who became the voice of one of America's most iconic cartoon characters.This entertaining and educational presentation brings history to life through storytelling and performance.

Kids and teens may also enjoy Brick Club July 10 and 24 at 4:00 p.m. Participants will enjoy putting their Lego building skills to the test with fun challenges.

Young children and families can also look forward to special programs presented by Discovery Lab during Storytime on July 29 and August 5 at 10 a.m. Recommended for ages 3-9, these interactive science experiences will feature Storm Science and Art Chemistry. Due to limited space, registration is required for both Discovery Lab programs.

'We're excited to continue offering opportunities for learning, creativity, and fun long after Summer Reading ends,' said Justice Sweger, Library Director. 'Whether you're interested in science, history, technology, or simply celebrating with your community, there's something for everyone at the library.'
