Seven year old Caynne Martin, has become a group finalist in America’s Most Artistic Kid art competition. The competition also serves as a nationwide campaign, raising funds and awareness for Blood Cancer United (formerly known as the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
Martin, Pepper, as they call her, was raised in Bristow in a family who recognizes the importance of art. The family uses art daily as a tool for self expression and critical thinking. Martin has been voted Most Artistic of her class in pre-K, Kindergarten and first grade at Parkview Elementary in Stroud. She is also a five consecutive week winner of her school’s math challenge called Facts on Fire. Martin loves learning about space, especially dwarf planets. She is full of fun space facts. Her passion is art, science, and math. She somehow finds creative ways to bridge these passions together into some unique works of art.
Through the competition, Martin has had the opportunity to learn new art techniques by participating in weekly painting challenges, creating a Bob Ross inspired network call Razzle Dazzle Mountain. The experience has bee n incredilbly meaningful to Martin as it has given her the confidence of seeing her family and friends rally together to support her in the competition and she is very excited about the money she has been able to raise so far to help others.
Martin is competing for the chance to have her work displayed in the Bob Ross exhibit in Indiana’s Minnestria Museum, appear on a special episode of the Joy of Painting television show and take home $20,000.00 which will go towards Martin’s college fund.
The winner will be chosen by the greatest number of votes contestants receive.
