Bulk trash days

Now that Spring is just around the corner, residents will be wanting to get outside and plant their gardens or clean out that shed that you have been meaning to do for the last couple of years? With any type of gardening, yard cleanup or cleaning out that shed, comes a lot of stuff you really don’t want or stuff that doesn’t need to be in the shed any longer. Bristow has a bulky trash pick up day available to all residents who have regular trash service.

All bulky trash should be set at the curbside before 6 am on the Wednesday of your scheduled bulky trash day. You are allowed up to 2 cubic feet per month (this is about the size of a pick up bed full). The scheduled pick up days are as follows. If your regular service is on Monday, your bulky service would be on the first Wednesday of the month, if regular service is on Tuesday, you would be the second Wednesday of the month, if regular service is Thursday your bulky service day would be the third Wednesday of the month and if regular service is Friday, your bulky service would be picked up on the fourth Wednesday of the month.

All items must be able to be lifted and managed by two persons. Items should be set at least five feet from any mailbox, gas meter, cars, shrubs, or anything else that could interfere with the handling or mechanical pick up of the items. Tree limbs or wood scraps should be tied and bundled in four foot by 18 inch diameter bundles and not weigh more than 50 lbs. Old appliances and air conditioners must not contain Freon. The compressor must be removed or a sticker showing certified removal. The resident or homeowner is responsible for disposing of any hazardous waste items, paints, oils, dirt, rock, concrete pieces, rail road ties, tires, rims, car batteries, gas, antifreeze, and any type of construction materials.
