September 6, 1940 - September 5, 2025
Robert Warren Carman, 84, of Bristow, passed away on Sept. 5, 2025, on the eve of his 85th birthday. He was born on September 6, 1940.
Rob was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 52 years, Linda Carman, by his parents, Henry and Gladys Carman. Siblings: Willford Carman, Pompey Carman, Leonard Carman, Carl Wayne Carman and Erma Thompson. He is survived by two sisters, Geneva Coleman and Norma Bethel; children Brad and Brandy Carman of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Teri and Kevin Fox of Bristow. He was the proud Pops of Jessica Fox, Kelli Fox, Brandon and Danikka Dale, Dustin and Destiny Daniels, Hunter Stevens, Colby Wilson and was blessed with 13 great-grandchildren: Gavin, Pyper, Aiden, Tucker, Summer, Wyatt, Gideon, Cannon, Claire, Amelia, Matilda, Eliza and Emily.
Following marriage in 1965 he and his sweetheart built their life together in Gypsy, where he took pride in running a fish farm and caring for their cattle.
In his younger years, Rob had a passion for the rodeo, roping, riding roughstock, and entertaining as a rodeo clown. He loved noodling with friends who became family, and those fishing adventures were often followed by unforgettable fish fries. For more than 40 years, Rob owned and operated Rob’s Magneto Service on First Street, where he welcomed customers with humor, kindness, and often a challenge to a game of checkers. Those who stopped by might also remember the sound of KREK playing in the background or finding Rob with a book in hand.
Rob will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, sharp wit, and generous heart.
He rarely told his grandchildren no, especially when it came to Lawson’s grocery for a chocolate soldier and fresh sliced cheese, but he always made sure to pass down lessons of gratitude and appreciation. His legacy is carried on through the love of his family, the laughter he shared, and the lessons he instilled.
A memorial service is scheduled for 10 a.m., Friday, Sept. 12, 2025, at the Bristow City Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Hutchins Maples Matherly Funeral Home.
