Funeral services for Depew resident, Loretta Lynn Cooper, were held at 11a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2024 at the Depew Church of God with Pastor Eli Leonard officiating. Interment followed in the Depew Oak Dale Cemetery. Funeral services were entrusted to the care of Michael’s Funeral Home of Bristow.

Loretta was born in Dallas, Texas on June 12, 1964 to the late Jeral Raines and Nola (Sanders) Raines.
She passed from this life in Tulsa on Jan. 17, 2025 at the age of 60 years, seven months, and five days.
From the very beginning she knew how to make an impression, whether it was with her big heart or her unmistakable love for making food.
In 1987 Loretta met Michael Cooper and within minutes they were making plans for a lifetime together – after all, who could resist a woman who could cook and fish with equal skill? They had two biological sons, Aaron and Thomas, but Loretta’s capacity for love did not stop there. If you know Loretta, you know her door was always open (and so was her kitchen). Loretta and Michael went on to adopt a few extra kids over the years. One of them being Kevin, who quickly became a third son in the Cooper household and a fixture in the family. Later Loretta and Michael expanded their family once more, adopting Haley, Jacob, and Dymond, solidifying her title as Mom for life. If motherhood had a title Loretta would have held it proudly. If there was an Olympic event for “loving on kids” she would have taken home the gold every time.
Loretta is survived in death by her husband, Michael Cooper, and their children, as well as Thomas’s wife, Nikki; her grandchildren, Ashton Cooper, and Savannah Howard; two brothers, George Rains (and Mary) and Larry Rains (and Teryl); and a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who consider themselves family. Loretta never met a stranger, and if she did, she made them feel like family too.
Loretta would not want anyone to be sad, and knowing her, she’s probably up there planning a fishing trip, cracking jokes, and whipping up a hearty meal for all the angels who have joined her. She believed in the Lord with unwavering faith, and we all take comfort knowing exactly where she is today.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made toward her burial at Michael’s Funeral Home in Bristow. Loretta would not have wanted the attention, but she would have appreciated the help. Please Do Not Dress Up. Mom was a plain Jane type lady, and she would want everyone in jeans and a t- shirt.
