Jimmey Ray Grant was born Feb. 15, 1964, to Jimmey Wayne and Carolyn Joyce Grant in Stroud. He departed this life Oct.13, 2024, surrounded by his family at the age of 60.
He graduated from Stroud High School in 1982 and was a member of the Milfay First Baptist Church. After graduating Jimmey continued working at Jackson’s Dairy. He also worked at Stroud Feed, J&J Dozer Service, which was operated by him and his father, Jim, and Cross Country TLC Truck Driving. In March of 2000, Jimmey began working for Creek County District 3 and retired after 24 years of service. Jimmey loved his time as Assistant Fire Chief at the Milfay Volunteer Fire Department and serving his community in various ways.
Jimmey loved anything to do with family, hunting, fishing and camping. He checked his game cameras every day, twice a day, always searching for that big buck. And he always was quick to share those photos. In his younger years, you would find him in the wood’s coon hunting with the crew.
Survived by his wife Angela Daniels Grant of the home; his parents, Jim and Carolyn Grant, one sister Joy Polkey, brother-inlaw Bob Polkey and nephew Jimmey Don Fowler. Cousins like brothers, Johnny “Bump” and Billy Grant, and their wives Penny and Leslie Grant; bonus kids and grandkids, Jerry Stephanie Brown, Tiffany and Tommy Thomsen, Ryan & Danielle Murfin, Cloe, Cadence, Chance and Logan. Special friend/brother, Eric Reynolds. Beloved pets, JoJo, Tabby, Annie and Reba He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Forrest and Pauline Grant, and maternal grandparents Frank and Mary Cochran. Uncles Paul Pool, Charles Cochran, Ed Fowler, Don Gregory, Ronnie Cochran and Don Cochran. Aunts, Irene Cochran and Lillian Cochran; father-in-law, Llyod Wayne Daniels.

Funeral services were held for 10 a.m, Thursday, Oct. 17, 2024, at the Milfay Baptist Church with interment following at the Stroud City Cemetery.
