Mark your calendars for Saturday, Aug. 17, 2024. The 62nd annual Western Heritage Days will kick off with a rodeo on Friday night, Aug. 16, beginning at 8 pm. Saturday morning a festival full of fun, entertainment and enjoyment will be held on Main Street, beginning with a parade down Main Street at 9 a.m. The festival will begin at 10 am and end at 3 pm. At 10 am, free carriage rides for ten people or less will be available to and from the festival. The day will be celebrated with vendors, food trucks. live music, entertainment, inflatables, turtle races, and much more. Also, the Bristow Historical Museum will be open during this event, so stop by and check out the museum's Gene Autry and Western exhibit. Activities will be hosted in the town square between 6th and 7th Street, from Main Street to the depot. This unique festival draws visitors from near and far.
The day doesn't end with the festival at 3 p.m. but continues on to the Saturday night rodeo. The rodeo is ACRA/IPRA sanctioned. Lots of entertainment here with barrel racing, saddle bronc riding, bareback riding, calf roping and steer wrestling; along with featuring nightly The Ozark Renecades. For the young, a barnyard scramble will be held on Friday night and a calf scramble on Saturday night. Mutton bustin' kicks off at 7 pm sharp, Saturday evening, with sign ups at 6 pm. The event is held at the rodeo arena at the Bristow Sports Complex, 100 Weatherwood Way.
