A fire at a residence in Stroud claimed the lives of two people. On March 8, a fire broke out at a home on West 4th Street, in Stroud. The fire department was called to the scene and extinguished the fire, doing an inspection of the home. Nothing was found and the scene was cleared. Several days later neighbors discovered the remains of a body. The police were called. After another inspection of the burned home, another body was found. Both sets of the remains were sent to the medical examiners office for positive identification. Neighbors fear the bodies are of the residents of the home, Kayla Butler and Brian Arterberry, who have been missing since the fire started. The Stroud Police have listed Butler and Arterberry as missing in the national database.
