Myra Lynn (Faith) Fadely was born June 6, 1936, to Carl Truman and Cloie Minerva Faith in West Point, Arkansas. She departed this life Dec. 21, 2022, at the age of 86.
She was a 1954 graduate of Independence High School in Independence, Kansas and went on to Washburn University where she met and married John Fadely. They moved to Houston and had three children, Scott, Bret, and Jean Ann. They moved to Bristow in 1970 where she worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Reid McCullough and later Dr. Owen Corwin.
Myra was full of life, outgoing, and of course, stubborn at times. She was strong and resilient and took on life’s challenges and trials by leaning on her strong faith in Christ. She was funny, classy, feisty, full of energy, smart, kind, and selfless; always busy helping others and serving, she was a loving, encouraging, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother; always going above and beyond for her family. years to the fullest. She loved her church and her community. Myra never had a dull moment, even going on date nights with her granddaughter, Makayla, to scary movies. She was active in the Bristow Historical society, Chapter CO of PEO, was one of the coordinators of Harry’s Blessing in a backpack, delivered Meals on Wheels, and volunteered at the Freeland Center.
When she wasn’t involved in a public activity, she enjoyed reading and doing jigsaw puzzles. Myra’s most outstanding quality was her generous heart. She loved people and found comfort in helping others.
She is survived by two sons, Scott Fadely and wife Peggy, Bret Fadely and wife Lanette; one sister, Polly Kelly; son in law, Mike Wilson and wife Janet, six grandchildren, Rodney Fadely, Mallory Tallman and husband Philip, Ryan Wilson and wife Chelsey, Makayla Wilson, Gregg Wilson and wife Kacy, and Kari Wilson. Fifteen great grandchildren, Jordan, Esther, Ruth, Charlie, Henley, Hyatt, Cameron, and Ryan Jr., Bode and Berkli, Jaydn, McKenah, Taebren, Taisyn and Trezden, and numerous nieces and ephews, that she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Jean Ann Wilson, one brother, Carl Faith, one sister, Billie Moss, one granddaughter, Alisha Fadely, two brothers-in-law, Tracy Kelly and Charles Moss.
A memorial service was held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2022, at the Bristow Presbyterian Church.
