Cecil Evans

March 31, 1926 - September 5, 2022

Graveside funeral rites for Bristow resident, Cecil Evans were held 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 9, 2022 in the Magnolia Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Brother Cory Crane of the General Assembly Osage Church of the First Born at Agra, Oklahoma officiated. Military funeral honors were provided by the United States Army. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of Michael’s Funeral Home of Bristow.

Cecil was born in Chandler, on March 31, 1926 to the late Bill Lyle Evans and Alba Dee (Moore) Evans. He passed from this life at his residence on Sept. 5, 2022 at the age of 96 years, five months, and five days. Cecil was raised and educated in Chandler. He joined the United States Army in 1944 and was honorably discharged in 1946. He married Aline June Vail and they had six children. They were married for 16 years. He then married Frankie Lee Hand on Oct. 4, 1971 in Seminole. Since 1972 they had made their home in Bristow. Cecil was a welder by trade and had worked for Walter Brown Company welding large fuel storage tanks until retiring in 1982. He enjoyed going to flea markets and selling treasures he had found. He always tried to attend the funerals for his friends because he thought it was very important to pay your respects. His greatest joy was spending time with his girls and his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant Son: Cecil Jr.; two grandchildren: Shannara Byers and Brandy Sanders; four Great grandchildren: Jaxon Annuschet, Bryan Sanders, Kathleen Lacy, Caliegh Byers; and four sisters: Wuadean Retherford, Betty Butts, Connie Lowe and Carolyn Kelch.

His remaining family includes his wife: Frankie, of the home; six daughters: Debra Price, of Pryor, Donna Simmons, of Glenpool, Mary Crane, of Vici, Brenda Malone, of Collinsville, Faith Harris, of Sand Springs, Sheila Rogers, of Texas; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildrenand great great grandchildren; plus a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
