Oklahoma's tax free weekend will take place this weekend, beginning Friday, Aug. 6 at 12:01 a.m. and ending on Sunday, Aug. 8. at midnight. During this time, the state, city, county and local municipality sales tax will be waived. With the school beginning shortly, it is a great way to help save on clothing and school supples.
Items included in Oklahoma's tax free weekend include clothing, footwear and school supplies priced at less than $100. While clothing qualifies for the exemption, clothing accessories such as jewelry, handbags, or sports and recreational equipment do not. Accessories and special clothing designed for athletic activity or protective use will be taxed. Tax free weekend also applies to online shopping and purchases.
