In an effort to meet and connect with the community they will soon serve, Carrus Health of Sherman, Texas, kicks off Carrus
Festival this Saturday at 1 p.m. in Klingensmith Park. The festival will include many activities with a little something fun for everyone.
Jordyn Case with Carrus’ marketing department noted that the majority of Carrus Health’s exec utive team and administrators of some of its facilities will attend Saturday, introducing the community to the company. Carrus will be taking over the management of Bristow’s current hospital on January 1, 2022, and partnering with the city to construct the new facility. Attendees will be able to view graphics depicting the new facility. She described some of the events and activities planned for the community: live music at the amphitheater, food trucks, a kids’ zone, a beer garden, local vendors, and an open-air tent live-streaming college football.
Musicians performing Saturday include the Bristow High School Pirate Pride, who will open events with the national anthem. Following the band, several musicians will perform throughout the day: Jake Flint, Chris Matthews, the Hi-Fi Hillbillies, John Williams, and Faithfultoo.
In addition to music, Carrus will have a variety of food options available. Food trucks will be selling pizza, barbecue, gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches, and tacos. Since many adults like to enjoy a cold beer with friends, music, good food, and some football, a “Beer Garden” will be planted somewhere at the park. Be sure to bring ID if you plan to partake in this attraction. Additionally, the Beer Garden serves as a fundraiser for next year’s Fourth of July celebration.
Because food and beer pair so well with football and Saturdays mean college football, Carrus will set up an open-air tent for livestreaming games near the beer garden. Due to timing, only the last half of the OU game will be streamed, followed at 2:30 by OSU’s game.
Finally, the Kids’ Zone will be an area for children to play, including bouncing on the inflatables. The live music, football streaming, and use of the inflatables will be free of charge. Attendees need only pay for foods and beverages or purchases from vendors.
Be sure to get out to the park on Saturday. Meet the team investing in the community and its health for many years to come and have some fun, but plan to make it a day as the festival begins at 1 p.m. and runs till 9 p.m.
