With the 2024 Solar Eclipse’s path of totality cutting through the southeastern corner of the state and the surrounding states of Texas, Arkansas, and Missouri, Oklahomans had plenty of options to observe the event in partiality or totality. Many Bristowans traveled to experience totality. I asked the community “Where were you?” and received the following answers: T.S. and G.S. traveled to Ozark, Arkansas, to take in the wondrous spectacle. G.S. stated “The diamond ring effect as it moved out of totality was my favorite aspect. So awesome!”

A.L. traveled to Idabel with family and friends, saying “The experience left me awestruck. Perfection.”

R.C. traveled to southeastern Oklahoma, near the Texas border, and noted the “stars came to say hello, twinkling… the birds sang sweet songs” and added “The moon hid the sun. They looked like an eye. Jesus made it beautiful. Everyone was happy.”

R.S. drove into Missouri, sharing “I will 100 percent travel again. To witness something so miraculous left me in the wonder of God’s awesomeness.”

L.R. summed it, saying “the wonder of that sparkling ring of light around the moon… worthy of tears… just beautiful”.
