The Bristow Community Center(BCC) hosted it’s first and potentially annual 2024 Spring Break, Free three-day Midday Movie Festival for local children and students.

Bristow Community Center ard President, Odell Alexander stated, “the purpose for the event was “to create this community event for our children. We recognize that everyone cannot travel during spring break this year, and we just wanted to give our local children a brief outing for a few days”.

Alexander also noted, “as a result, in this three-day event we had over 60 attendees, averaging roughly 20 participants per day, mostly children from Bristow, but we had children from Sand Springs area as well to attend our event.”

The Bristow Community Center hosted a FREE threeday Midday Movie Festival during this year’s Spring Break, that was on March 18-20, 2024, (Monday thru Wednesday) and each day’s activities began at 10:30am - 2:00pm.

The Bristow Community Center is located at the corner of 10th; North Chestnut Street, Bristow, Oklahoma. 74010.

Participants were requested to sign-in each day, so that we’ll know who is attending and parents were welcomed to participate.

All movies featured were kid friendly, participants were provided free popcorn, snacks, drinks and water. The feature movie was the Cars Trilogy, Cars 1,2 and 3, other movies were Bumble Bee from the Transformers franchise, the 1941 black & white horror movie The Wolfman, starring Lon Chaney Jr, and finally the live action Dumbo movie.

Many of our local youth were not able to go on a vacation this year for Spring Break, cosponsor Ted Alexander, owner of Rocking TA Ranch in Bristow says, “The BCC has hosted many events in the past years that had been largely youth focused. Alexander went on to say “I had an opportunity to be a co-sponsor for this Spring Break Midday Movie event this past week and it was a absolutely gratifying to see the youth enjoying themselves as they watched the movies and ate all the free refreshments that was provided, I look forward to participating again in the future events.”

Other activities for participants were drawings for door prizes and some children played at the Toni Godwin Park, adjacent to the Community Center property.
