Many people around the world will celebrate Jesus's physical resurrection on Easter, this Sunday, April 20, 2025.
His brutal crucifixion on a Roman cross began the Gospel story. He willingly died so that sinners wouldn’t receive the punishment we deserve. God will one day reveal His final word about how you and I have lived.
When Moses spoke to God at the burning bush, we read, “Then Moses said to God, 'Behold, I am going to the sons of Israel, and I will say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you.’ Now they may say to me, ‘What is His name?’ What shall I say to them?”
And God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM,” and He said, “This is what you shall say to the sons of Israel: ‘I AM has sent me to you’” (Exodus 3:13-- 14). “I AM” is a Hebrew term referring to the eternal Creator’s name. Jesus used this term: “Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for unless you believe that I am, you will die in your sins.” Then they were saying to Him, “Who are You?” Jesus answered them, ”I am what I have been telling you all along!” ( John 8:25) The Jewish religious leaders were so steeped in their manmade traditions that they couldn't see God.
The angel Gabriel told Mary that she was the chosen vessel for bringing God’s Son into the world. The angel also appeared to Joseph. He told Joseph that Jesus was the expected one from God: “Behold, the virgin will conceive and give birth to a Son, and they shall name Him Immanuel,” which translated means “God with us” (Matthew1:23).
Can anyone comprehend God’s plan for man and explain this prophecy’s fulfillment in Jesus? No one can! God only wants you and I to believe what He said about His Son.
Jesus said to the Jewish religious leaders, “Your father Abraham was overjoyed that he would see My day, and he saw it and rejoiced.” So the Jews said to Him, “You are not yet fifty years old, and You have seen Abraham?” Jesus said to them, 'Truly, truly I say to you, before Abraham was born, I am’” ( John 8:56-58). The Jews considered this blasphemy and demanded death by stoning.
