We interviewed Coach Dusty Richardson of the Wrestling team, who had many positive remarks about players. He stated ‘’I believe we have had a few good practices since the football players arrived.‘’ He also stated that the dual team has never lost a meet. As said, he wants to keep it that way. He is also very confident that he will have multiple placers after the whole team placed at Perry Junior High tournament. He also believes he has a 10/10 wrestling team as a coach.
Next, we interviewed Coach Brian Hopgood Sr. with the basketball team. He also had many positive comments about the team. He stated ‘’ Players will get better by asking for help by coaches and asking more experienced players.’’ He also stated, ‘’Other ways players can get better is practicing the three basic skills dribbling, shooting and passing. If you practice them 10-15 minutes a day you will perfect them.’’ He also stated, ‘’ If you want a starting position you can get with a coach and spend time working on skills.’’ After asking he named the best players in his personal opinion. DISCLAIMER this is before the season started. He would mention ‘’ Some of the players to keep an eye on can be Jackson Lovett, Camden Craig, Tatum Schonfield, Locke Tidwell, and Jaxson McDaniel. He also said there are many other players with potential.
And last but never least, we interviewed Coach Jarrod Pitchford and Coach Cameron Palmer. These coaches and the help of other coaches has led the 2024 Bristow Pirate football team to a 6-4 and 5-2 district record. Before the Lone Grove game Coach Cameron Palmer would give the game plan. He said, ‘’We will use short passing and run the ball.’’ We asked him how the team would act after a loss he said “Hopefully we will keep the same intensity.’’ We asked ‘’ Who are you aiming to get the ball most of ?’’He would answer ‘’My emphasis on Cade Williams and Javon Freeman, we have a new play that will hopefully get them the ball, Leech follow bulls.’’
We interviewed Coach Jarrod Pitchford for his opinion on the upcoming game. He said, “The football team will focus on basic, perfect skills, he asks to not have it complicated.” He also stated, ‘’ Is there any player you are focusing on having a good game.’’ Pritchford said, ‘’Always ready for anybody to make a big play.’’ He would also introduce a new blitz. The specific number of stat is No scoring.
