Fish Fry Fundraiser this Saturday

On Saturday, June 22, at 4 p.m., the Fellowship Church of the Nazarene at East 4th Avenue and South Chestnut Street will host a fish fry for a church fundraiser. The menu will include fried fish, potatoes, baked beans, cole slaw, hushpuppies, dessert, and a beverage. Pricing per plate is set at $12 each for anyone aged 9-years and older with a price of $6 per plate for all children aged 8-years and younger. The fundraiser will also offer a patriotic quilt as a door prize.

Bristow Nights

Local vehicular enthusiasts met in the Tractor Supply parking lot last Friday evening, June 14, around 7 p.m. to share their love of motor mechanics, motorcycles, cars, and trucks. Participants shared tips and tricks, showcased their work, socialized, met new people, and cruised the town at sundown. They meet periodically in the same location, so be sure to check out their Facebook page, Bristow Nights, for more information.

BPD Blood Drive

This Friday, June 21, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Oklahoma Blood Institute Bloodmobile will visit the Bristow Police Department for their blood drive. Donors may schedule an appointment by visiting www.obi.org or calling 877-340-8777; although, walk-ins are also welcome. Donors will receive a free t-shirt and ticket either to Frontier City or Hurricane Harbor.

Ladies Bunco Night

Local ladies, playing bunco to raise money and bless a local cause, raised $125 for the Bristow Pirate Plunge at their most recent meeting on June 6, at the Center of Hope at 102 North Main Street. Their next meeting will raise money for Rotary Club of Bristow’s Back-to-School program. They will meet at 7 p.m. on August 1. Ladies Bunco Night is open to the public, and women may play for $5.

Police Department Reaches Fundraising Goal

Over the last couple of months, Bristow Police Department has sought donations in pursuit of their $10,000 goal toward the purchase of and provision for the 5th Annual Sam Varner Memorial Fireworks Celebration on July 6. Last week, the department excitedly announced on social media that the community met the goal.
