Joseph "Joe" Alfred Ihle, Sr. inducted into the Centenarians of Okllahoma#2817. Joseph was born on August 7th, 1922.
At approximately 10:45 p.m. on Feb. 19, Bristow Police Dept. was made aware of a threat on social media directed towards the Bristow School System. It is determined that there is no danger to the students or staff at this time.

The Rembrandt Group provides for Veterans roofing needs. Local veteran Sherman Youngblood found himself in need of roofing assistance to remain safely in his home. The Rembrandt Group of Sapulpa ultimately met his need.
15 year old allegedly shoots and kills father. On Tuesday Feb. 14th, 2023, Valentines Day, a Stroud resident was shot and killed by his 15 year old son.
Bristow Police Department and task force get fentanyl drug off the streets.
BPD served a warrant on a Bristow residence. Fentanyl, methamphetamine and paraphernalia along with a substantial amount of money were located.
House passes Davis Bill to allow vehicle registration every two years. The house unanimously passed a bill that would allow personal vehicle owners the option of registering their vehicle every two years instead of just one.
House passes bill to hold drunk drivers accountable. House passed a bill that allows courts to order drunk drivers to pay child support if they kill a parent of a minor.
The Crew, BPS Theater and Speech team, place at final tournament. The BHS Theater and Speech team attended their 7th and final qualifying tournament of the '22-'23 school year. It was held in Inola and the Crew claimed 10 more qualifications for regionals. Bringing their total to 44 for the year.

VFW Post 3656 Auxiliary members purchased three books for donation to the library. Books were chosen and purchased in accordance with the auxiliary's "Patriotism through Literacy" program activities
The Bradford Pear trees that adorned Main Street from 9th to 1oth were recently cut down due to the roots of the trees growing under the sidewalks and destroying them.
On March 8th a fire engulfed a home on West 4th street in Stroud. Fire Department extinguished the fire, done inspection of the home and nothing was found. Several days later neighbors discovered the remains of a body. After another inspection of the home a second set of remains were found. Both sets of remains have been sent to the medical examiner's officefor positive identification.

New columbariums going in at Bristow City Cemetery. Columbariums were installed at the Bristow City Cemetery. A columbarium is an above ground structure designed for the interment of cremated remains.
On Saturday March 19th, 2023 a fatality accident occured between two vehicles and a pedestrian. The two vehicles collided then hit the 19 year old pedestrian who was from Sapulpa. He was pronounced dead at the scene due to massive injuries.
Wildflower Run dedicated to Eunice Lawson.
The community will celebrate the 35th annual Wildflower Run on May 14th. The selected person to dedicate the run to was Eunice Lawson who unfortunately passed away on March 11th at the age of 93.
BPS "Teachers of the Year" chosen. High School teacher of the year is Shannon Hilburn, Middle School teacher of the year is Samantha Thomas, Collins teacher of the year is Ashley McGovran and Edison teacher of the year is Angel Balenti who is also Bristow District Teacher of the Year.
Beauty and the Beast comes to the Freeland Center. The show's producer Chip Cooper has been bringing top notch entertainment to the Freeland Center for Performing Art since it opened in 2009.

High winds and wildfires keep firefighters busy. Firefighters kept busy over the weekend battling wildfires. Fridays wind gusts over 50 miles an hour made it tough on firemen.
The Bristow Fire Department recently got a fresh new look with new paint and a new color on both buildings.
Local Icon, TeePee Drive-In brought back to life. TeePee Drive-In is reopening after not having a movie on it's screen in over 20 years. Grand Opening will be held April 15th.

All BPS put on lockdown due to threat made . On Thursday, all sites of the Bristow Public Schools were put on lock down due to a threat that was found on the bathroom wall at the middle school.

The Historical Society has been working for a year and a half on fundraising and writing grants to raise the money for the construction to light the Chrysler tower.
