Creek County Sheriff responds to shooting

On January 4, Creek County Deputies responded to a call about a shooting in Oakhurst. Upon arrival deputies found a victim who had been shot in the head. Deputies tracked a blood trail that ultimately led to the victim's house.

After deputies spoke with the victim, who even though had a gunshot wound to the head, was in stable condition, and spoke to several neighbors, deputies started looking for Popeye Lee Nolan, age 23, of Tulsa. Deputies located Nolan on January 5 and arrested him on charges of alleged shooting with intent to kill and possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony. Nolan was booked into Creek County Jail. As of press time, no bond had been set.

Meanwhile, the Creek County Sheriff's office was busy making other local arrests. The charges and bail amounts may change after court appearances and may not be current. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. The following arrests were made within a two week period. These are local arrests only. December 29, Gabriel Fall Russell, age 27, of Bristow, charges of Cruelty to Animals, bond is set at $10,000 with a court date of Jan. 13; December 30, 2025, Michael Allen Bledsaw, age 44, possession of controlled substance, unlawful session of paraphernalia, driving while suspended, possession cds (controlled dangerous substance, unlawful possession of paraphernalia, carrying firearms after conviction, bring or carrying contraband into jail; bond is set at $8,500 with a court date of Jan. 13. Michael Dustin Vawter, age 44, of Oilton. Charges of burglary in the second degree and petitt larceny. Bond is set at $20,000 with a court date of Jan. 14. January 2, Samuel Mo Horton, age 21, Kellyville, charges of burglary in the second degree, bond has been set at $20,000 with a court date of Jan. 13. January 2, Daniel Towney Davidson, age 39, of Bristow. Charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, obstructing an officer, domestic abuse, and threatening to perform an act of violence. Bond set at $100 with a court date of Jan. 14. Efren Garcia-Ortizw, age 59, of Bristow. Charges of reckless conduct with a firearm. Bond is set at $10,000 with a court date of Jan. 14. January 6 booking of Kira Leeanna Tollett, age 27, Bristow. Charges of four counts of assault and battery, child endangerment, malicious injury to property over $250. Bond is set at $225,000 with a court date of January 20. On January 7, Joseph Federick Johnson, age 54, of Bristow. Charges of carrying a firearm after a conviction, possession of a CDS, unlawful possession of paraphernalia, two counts of receiving or concealing stolen property, unlawful use of communication facility and driving while license suspended. Bond is set at $52,000 with a court date of Jan. 20. January 9, Sean Delton Troxell, age 31, of Depew. Charges of lewd and indecent proposals and showing obscene material to a minor. Bond is set at $55,000 with a court date of Jan. 20. On January 9, Holli Ann Beathe, age 39, of Depew, three counts of child neglect. Bond is set at $25,500 with a court date of Jan. 20. Again, these are arrests only, not convictions.
