At this year’s Creek County Fair, Bristow High School’s Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) chapter made their hometown proud. With more than 60 entries in a variety of categories, these 9th–12th grade Family and Consumer Sciences students showed that hard work and creativity are a staple to our young growing community.
From tasty baked goods to carefully stitched quilt patches, the students’ projects highlighted a wide range of skills. Hand-sewn stuffed animals, handmade jewelry, cozy blankets, and original artwork reflected everyday rural life. Many students spent hours after school finishing their projects with help from their advisor.
Their effort paid off with 34 total awards: 10 firstplace ribbons, 5 seconds, 8 thirds, 4 fourths, and 7 fifths. These wins show both individual talent and the chapter’s dedication to quality work and presentation.
FCCLA advisor Miranda Groom shared her excitement. “Our students put a tremendous amount of time and care into every project,” she said. “Seeing their work recognized at the fair is so rewarding and a true reflection of their skills and passion.”
Bristow’s FCCLA members once again inspired their peers and community. Congratulations to all the students for a job well done.
