Jamie Bridgeman, a 2009 graduate of Bristow High School, is bringing some magic to our town. Jamie, better known as JD the Christian Illusionist, has been performing magic for 16 years. He has performed at several venues throughout Oklahoma and Arkansas. On Saturday, Jan. 18, 2024, 12:00 pm, he will be at Walmart for a “pop-up” meet and greet and a VIP ticket giveaway for his next show. It all started in 2005 when a magician entertained the students at school.“I fell in love with the art of magic”, JD stated. From that point, he starting going to the library to read all the books he could about magic. He watched YouTube videos and studied other magicians and that is what helped him to create his own “art of magic”. His favorite trick is the Razor Trick. Without giving it away, it involves razor blades and strings. He gets some of his inspiration from Criss Angel. The other comes from God. Something that sets JD apart from other illusionists is that he incorporates his love of God in his performances. When asked about his future plans and goals, he stated that it’s to “help others and bring people closer to God”. He enjoys meeting and connecting with people at his performances. Not only does JD travel and perform illusions, he also owns and produces videos through Freelance Studios which he started in 2008. He actually filmed a movie in Bristow in 2017; JD’s TV Cops, Part 2. If you can’t make it Saturday, be sure and check him out on Facebook JD The Christian Illusionist. Before he disappears.
